Can I get a “B”?

To everyone who’s put up with all my anthropology blather on here, it’s been worth it. I checked my grades and I received a B in my Physical Anthropology class. Woo hoo! This may seem minor to some, but as a student who has to struggle just to get a C in any class, this B is amazing for me. I’m pretty sure I failed Math, but I’ll be retaking so no biggie. But a B in Anthro…I’m excited. I was pretty sure I fell into the high C bracket and expected no more than a B- so this has been a big surprise. Yee haaw for me.

Figures

Good to know my heartburn has returned now that I’m no longer puking my guts out. Just lovely. Now, to eat something besides plain Eggo waffles and Otter pops.

Blech

So I got the nast bug that Ashleigh has and it sucks donkey ass. I haven’t feel this shitty in a long, long time. As I said to John last night as I was in pain “I’d rather birth two kids instead of deal with this”. Oh my lordy, I can not wait until this is gone.

Ash is still sick and kept some food down yesterday, but not much. I’m hoping at least one of us is better today.

Helpless

Ashleigh has been sick since yesterday evening and still can’t keep any water down. One of us needs to run and get some electrolyte popsicles or something, but we’re both so exhausted from being up all night. I hate this. I feel so helpless and poor Ash is apologizing when she throws up.

She’s never been sick like this before and I’m really worried she’ll get dehydrated if she can’t keep anything down. I don’t like seeing my baby sick. It’s breaking my heart. I just want to hold her but she just wants to sit on the couch by herself. We can just deal with our pain and sicknesses but Ash…I can tell she’s confused, doesn’t know why this is happening. I just want her to feel better.

Okay, that hurt

Looks like I’ll be pulling in a C. Oh well, not much I can do now. I’ll just continue reading sites like Talk Origins to help retain all this information for future reference. It’s good to know I’ll be examining each part of this Anthro class in further detailed ones down the road, but man, my head aches. I sure my brain would just suck up all this knowledge and hold it instead of letting half of it all drain out.

But I’m done for now and that’s all. Off to work on a site for money and then finally, after picking up 83 pictures on Tuesday, get some damn scrapping in. Woo hoo! I’m a happy woman for at least a couple months.

zzzzzzzzz

Here’s hoping I’m not snoozing through my exam in the morning (7 hours and 15 minutes from now). I do have to say this is somewhat early for me to be crashing the night before. Hmm, am I actually getting this school thing down, preparation and all? We’ll see.

I was looking over my quiz, homework and exam grades in my Anthro course and was surprised to see my grades have been very consistent. A nice overall C. Ugh. If I can just raise my grade enough with this exam (I’m hovering at 79%, a high C, one % from a B, dammit) I will be ecstatic.

Either way, by 9:45AM tomorrow I will be on vacation until the middle of August. I’d be doing the happynakeddance if I wasn’t so damn exhausted.

Concentration

Do you know how difficult it is to concentrate on quadratic equations when I have “The Enormous Penis” song running through my head?

Scrapbooking Tote

For the few who read this who are scrapbookers I am looking to sell my Crop in Style XXL wheeled organizer. It is black and very lightly used. Since I migrated my scrapping to our old kitchen table I no longer need the XXL. I have had it for less than a year so if you’ve been wanting one but don’t want to pay the full price this is an option. I’m looking for $50 for the tote and the person who buys it will just pay exact shipping costs (I’m assuming UPS is cheaper, will investigate shipping options, and have seen them an average of $25 on eBay for this item).

For more information, read the product information on the CIS site: XXL. (I don’t have the pen caddy that originally came with it but everything else is as described.) I will have my own pictures when I get home after my final this afternoon.

One more for kicks

I have enough pet peeves as it is but it looks like another one has been born. Since I’ve learned the correct spelling of Neandertal earlier in my class (had no reason to know otherwise until now) I see it misspelled ALL the time. And what makes it really annoying is when someone uses it as an insult and spells it wrong. Gah! It’s Neandertal, not Neanderthal. The public service announcement is over. Thank you.

Okay, back to studying these guys.

Oh, how sad, when I go to spell check and the CORRECT spelling is considered incorrect.

Panic and pussy

Finals are this next week, Math on Wednesday, Anthro on Thursday. I am so completely unprepared for these. Thursday is going to be tough, with my final starting at 7:45AM. Lordy, I’m usually just getting dressed then.

No pressure or anything, but if I don’t get an A on my Math exam I have to take the damn class over next semester. At least it’ll be easier then, right?

The fall semester schedule is out and I can’t believe I’ve excited to take Pre History. Then again, I’ll have the same energetic, reminds me of the guy in Office Space and gets his haircut that makes him look so kid-like and I want to just pinch his cheeks teacher. Eric is cool, really, which is why I’m putting off taking my Cultural Anthro class until next Spring, when he’s lecturing. He’s just so damn happy at 9:30AM (with twins at home, too, amazing).

Anyhow, studying tonight, Monday, and so forth. I scheduled my Math exam so I would be done with it before the final Anthro brain cram. Now, if I could just remember the Tertiary Period Epics in the right order. Hopefully the “Please Ejaculate On My Pussy” that John and I came up with will do the trick (Paleocene, Eocene, Oligocene, Miocene, Pliocene in case you’re wondering). Makes me wonder what other people think of when studying for tests.

Oh, the joy of having children

Ashleigh has been talking like crazy lately, with new words each day. Because yelling “penis, penis” loudly in a store (peanuts) isn’t enough, she now says “horny, penis”. This is of course, “hungry, peanuts” in non-toddler speak. Mmm, yummy.

Mother’s Day

Yesterday was awesome. A completely unproductive day but that was just what I needed. The three of us drove to La Jolla beach, found a perfect parking spot, and spent a couple hours hanging out in the sun breeze. Ashleigh had a blast and I just enjoyed walking around, taking in the waves and gorgeous view. With empty pockets and bank accounts (gas was paid by John’s company, woo hoo) we drank water, munched on our popcorn (popped with the air popper we got from his brother) and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I’m so happy that we were able to have such a relaxing day without even really trying. This is definitely a Mother’s Day tradition I’d love to continue.

(More pictures will be uploaded at the end of the month)

I’m here

Just been a bit busy since I arrived home Monday night. I seem to have shaken the insomnia thanks to the trip and have actually had decent sleep the last couple nights. Nice. Now, to finish school in two weeks. Whew.
