Heads up!

Verizon DSL members, I have some news for ya. If you didn’t know already, you’re eligible for a price reduction, as well as an upgrade in download speed. I just got a flyer in the mail for dsl at $34.95/month. When I called, ready to tell them I wasn’t going to pay $49.95 a month anymore for the same thing, they said no problem. PLUS, a week from today our download speed will be doubled. Works for me. I guess they’re doing that for existing customers, but not everyone gets the speed upgrade. Either way, nothing wrong with saving $15 a month.

Okay, had to share. Time to head to the pool so we don’t melt.

Stinky

A quick note to those who haven’t painted their nursery…use glossy finish. That way, when it comes time for cleaning your toddler’s shit off the wall, it’ll be much easier.

Now excuse me while I try and finish my homework that I was supposed to be doing an hour ago when I daughter decided to undress herself, take her diaper off, shit, and fingerpaint with it.

No officer, I’m not drunk…

I’m just on the way to get more drugs!

Aah, this cold/flu/nasty bug is driving me nuts. John has had some nasty allergies while I’ve been sneezing, hacking up phlem, and whiping my watery eyes. Luckily, Ashleigh’s cold cleared up pretty quick and she’s back to her normal cute, I’m-gonna-throw-a-tantrum-over-every-little-thing-self. Yeah.

Something stupid in me felt it was okay to head out and pick up some meds. Unfortunately, the sun was still on its way down, and just about any hint of light triggered my eyes and nose. Not even half-way to the store I had to pull over because my eyes had filled up and I was starting to swerve. Apparently there had been a cop behind me and he pulled over, too. I didn’t even notice him until he was standing at my window, as I was digging for a napkin to wipe my eyes and blow my nose.

He asked if I was okay and I looked up at him and said “I guess. I’m just sick and going to get some medicine.” I’m sure I looked like crap, and the look on his face pretty much said that’s what he thought. “Okay, mam, just be careful. Pull over again if you have to.” And then he walked to his car and drove off. Nicest officer I’ve ever met on the road.

That was just the beginning of the crazy 45 minutes. No Sudafed Cold & Allergy. None. Not even a generic brand! So I hit Staters…none. Finally, I hit Target, and even they didn’t have any Sudafed. Okay, they had a shitload of Sudafed, but not the right one. Cold and Sinus woudln’t help, nor would just Cold, Nasal Decongestants, or Severe Cold. I’m not sure about anybody else, but when I get a cold, my eyes water like nothing else, but none of the over-the-counter shit takes care of that. Except Sudafed Cold and Allergy. There must be an overall backorder on that specific product or there are a lot of sick people in Murrieta.

So I grabbed some Target brand Cold and Allergy and got the hell out, hoping it would work just as good. I had to pull over two more times on the way home, and I almost got hit by a stupid speedbike, weaving in and out of moving traffic (when we’re stopped, go for it, but wtf is up with doing it when we’re moving? I almost hit him because he was moving so fast I never saw him in the mirrow!)

At least I’m feeling somewhat better today. The most annoying part of having a cold is the drainage of my ears, and that disappeared for the most part last night (I was finally able to sleep on my side). I still have some moments where I can feel my eyes starting to do their thing and I have to hunt for some tissue before I sneeze. And I have my voice back. That’s always a good thing. There’s nothing more frustrating than yelling “Ashleigh” really loud to get her to stop doing something, it comes out as a squeak, and then my daughter laughs at me. I can’t wait until I’m all better.

Meanwhile, I’m still struggling through all my homework, but at least it’ll all be done with at the end of the month. I’m planning my Fall semester and it looks like I’ll have three online course (all general ed requirments, joy) and one evening class. The times my core degree course are offered are purely retarded in my opinion, and I hope there are some better opportunities next year.

Time to go do the same thing I do everyday lately…homework.

May Day Project

I realize these May Day pictures are just a tad late, but at least I’m posting them. Tonight was the first chance had to steal the camera back from John and actually see the pictures I took.

In order from left to right, top, then bottom:
-John trying to ignore a crying Ash in the other room.
-Grumpy butt, ready to get the hell out of her crip.
-Left over waffles from Ashleigh’s breakfast.
-Duckie, being ignored in favor of the bath toys that squirt mommy.
-Ash “brushing” her teeth (after I did it first).
-The Ducks vs Wild Stanley Cup Playoff game (started at noon I think).
-My grainy hand and keys (thank to no flash) as I’m about to head out the door BY MYSELF.
-Baby Shower invitation. Two hours of women thawing frozen baby cubes, and enjoying a couple hours of freedom.
-The view from our back porch as Ash and I talked to and about the trees. She loves leaves.
-Ash was napping and I took the chance to catch up on my joyous Healthy Living reading about cancer and diseases. Exciting.

Nothing to fancy about my Saturday, well, except for the couple hours without Ash, which is always an event. :)

Yuckies

Where’s a Mr. Yuck sticker when you need one, sheesh. I was thinking Ash’s running nose and whining was due to teething (fangs are coming in), but last time I checked teething wasn’t contagious. She woke up twice during the night but wasn’t hungry, and just wanted to lay with us for a while. This morning, I woke up with the crud, dry throat, watery eyes and my body feels like cement. Blech. Today’s walk is gonna have to wait until this evening, when the sun is almost down, seeing as how just having a light on makes my eyes gush.

Dang, so much to talk about but my hands are not cooperating. I’ll be back to normal posting schedule eventually.

New Host

My last host went all screwy on me, and yes, I do have a back up of my entries, but not for the last couple months. I didn’t even get a chance to export my entries before they wigged out on me, so now I’m with No Hassle Hosting (Candi rocks) and have to piece all my shit together. Of course, this all happens when I’m behind in school work as it is. Figures.

Update: Candi has come to my rescue and grabbed my archives from my old server when I couldn’t. She must’ve said a few more swear words or something. All’s good from what I can tell.

Lucky Me

April pictures are up on Ashleigh’s site.

When I’m frustrated, feeling like crap, or lost, I have these guys. They rock. I am such a lucky one.
