Aaah, people

A payment came through on Paypal this evening so I made a quick trip to the store to buy some much needed milk. Of course, I get in the sloooowest fucking line, even though it’s the 10 or less register. During my idle time I start looking around, taking in the store I’ll now be spending more time in and I noticed the customer in front of me. She had no shoes on. None. One daughter had them on but the other didn’t.

What the hell? They couldn’t even put on some flip flops? I was disturbed but there wasn’t much I could do. It’s not like she didn’t know she wasn’t wearing them, how could you not?

I just don’t get it. I remember as a kid walking to the grocery store in the summer barefoot because I hated shoes then and still hate them. But I brought some sandals of some sort to slip on before going in the store! Besides the fact that there was a “No shoes, no shirt, no service” sign posted. It’s just consideration for everyone else. Granted, flip flops don’t hide unsightly feet but still. I’ve just never been so smacked in the face with another person’s lack of class. Wow.

Commenting on a side point: ever notice that you always seem to get in the slowest line? Seems to happen to me alot, even in so-called “Express” lines.
