I’ve just made a discovery
I’ve just made a discovery that just boggles my mind. In my hopes to cut down on my sugar intake I’ve been drinking more juice and hardly any Mountain Dew lately. Today, I stood in front of the coolers and gave into my craving voice and punched the Dew button. Chink, clank, thunk…my first Dew in a week. And then something possessed me to turn the can until I could read the Nutrition Facts. Calories, 170.
What?!
I check a can of Apple Cranberry that’s in the fridge and see if I’m imagining things. Nope, Calories, 210.
Huh?!
Apparently my supposedly healthier juice has not only more calories in it, but more sugar grams as well. Auugh! So much for convincing myself not to have Dew. Of course, caffeine isn’t always the healthiest ingredient, but at least I won’t kick myself in the mental butt now when I give into my craving.
I just see something completely wrong with this whole picture….
